Letting go of the grouch

Did you ever wake up one day and realized you had turned into a grouch? I remember several years back that I use to be more easy going, more fun and less grouchy. I guess when you are around negativity for long periods of time it just brings you down. How do you get yourself back up there? Hot air balloons, going to the zoo and rainbows use to make me smile ... now, when do you ever see me smile? I have had Jamie here for a week now and I find that every day I have a smile to give her. If we could all be so excited to see an elephant on the driveway in sidewalk chalk. What is it in life that makes us turn that corner to discontentment or sadness? When did I become too busy to sit outside for a few minutes and blow bubbles. I need to simplify. I need to get back to where I am excited to get started working so that I can get done and go out and play. I need to learn to love dancing in the rain, stomping in a puddle and singing "I've been working on the railroad" as loud as I can with the windows down. I have the perfect teacher for this .... Granddaughters. Today is the first day of a simple life where I can enjoy the simple things again.

We had our 3 year old granddaughter Alex yesterday. I know exactly what you're talking about. We did the chalk thing, singing, tea party, etc. What a joy. We all should look at life like a three year old. :)
